APT10 hacker group breaches Deloitte, EY and IBM by exploiting Fortinet bugs

The intrusion into Deloitte, EY and IBM network took place on November 13, 2021, according to a joint report published today by US cyber-security firms Rapid7 and Recorded Future.
As of at least May 2021, APT10 actor group almost certainly exploited a Fortigate appliance to access some webservers hosting some websites from these companies.
After gaining access to the local organization's server, the advanced persistent threat (APT) actors moved laterally through the network and created new domain controller, server, and workstation user accounts mimicking already existing ones.
Rapid7 has also observed attackers associated with this ongoing APT malicious activity creating 'WADGUtilityAccount' and 'elie' accounts on compromised systems. According to the Rapid7, this APT group will likely use this access to collect and exfiltrate data from the victims' network.
Full details of the vulnerabilities exploited and the exploits themselves will filter into the public domain in the coming months. Meanwhile, full disclosure of the security flaws would have been immediately made to all the affected vendors.
