BARBOURVILLE, KENTUCKY- On Sunday, January 30th, 2022, two robbers forcefully entered a family home in the middle of the night. These robbers were armed and planned on using violence to get their way into stealing valuable belongs of the victims.
This family property also included a barn with a pasture to hold the families five horses. One brave horse, named Penelope, decided to take matters into her own hooves and warn the family of the incoming armed robbers. Penelope, a black quarter horse, used all her force to push down the fencing to her pasture. Penelope then went up to the house bucking up against the walls and doors creating a bunch of noise to wake the family up.
The commotion caused the robbers to get scared and run out of the house without having stolen a single thing. Penelope then ran after the robbers as they were fleeing the house causing them to leave the scene quickly. Thankfully, the family was able to get the license plate number as they were driving away, and called the authorities. The authorities are now trying to find this vehicle and the criminals.
While the criminals are on the run, Penelope is getting extra treats and love from her owners for doing a great job.
