Bill Murray, the prolific actor and comedian known for his appearances on Modern Family and Everybody Loves Raymond, and in Christopher Guest's many mockumentaries, died March 28 at age 70. His cause of death was cardiac arrest, according to a death certificate obtained by TMZ on April 2.
Bill's son Luck announced his death in a statement, writing, "It is with a heavy heart that I share the news my father passed away very peacefully last night at the fantastic age of 70 years old. He kept moving, working and making us happy until the very end. We loved him so very much! We will miss him forever."
Bill got his start in sketch comedy on the stage, going on to appear in hundreds of films and TV shows in a career spanning more than 50 years. He collaborated extensively with Guest, and is perhaps best known for his work in the mockumentaries This Is Spinal Tap, Waiting for Guffman, Best in Show, and A Mighty Wind, among others.
