21 Savage doesn’t just rap about being a gangster, he really is one, according to federal prosecutors.
The 30-year-old hip-hop sensation has spent years as a member of the violent street crew “Sex Money Murda Bloods” — which has been accused of murders, robberies and other mayhem in and around Atlanta, according to the feds in DeKalb County. In some instances, Savage and his crew even went after fellow members of the gang in an attempt to “promote” their “standing and reputation among other Sex Money Murda Bloods members,” prosecutors charge. Savage — whose real name is Shéyaa Bin Abraham-Joseph — was joined in Sex Money Murda by associates like manager Justin “Meezy” Williams, who served as the CEO of the rapper’s entertainment group, Slaughter Gang.
He faces a minimum of 32 years in prison, if convicted.
