Folsom, CA–It all started out as a normal day on the campus of Folsom Lake College in Folsom, CA. “ I didn’t know what was going on, '' said Mary (a student from Folsom Lake College). A vicious dog attack turned serious as students on campus became frightened by the stray that chased students around campus in Folsom, CA. The dog was known for chasing students to and from class. Students felt like they couldn’t get across campus safely without being followed.
After asking around campus, another student Jasmine Smith reported that, “The dog chased me all the way to my dorm! I was so scared! He kept wagging his tail and trying to lick me. I almost asked security to give me a ride on their golf cart to make it home safely.”
After campus safety was contacted, they began their investigation to figure out who the pet belonged to. They asked local neighbors, the local veterinary services, and the shelter to determine how this dog arrived on campus. Mayor Jim Smith was called to get permission to release all video footage caught by the school to the public.
Jim Smith states, “We must come to the bottom of this for the safety of our community.” Footage from surveillance cameras around campus that show that the dog appears around 12:00-2:00 pm and 5:00-7:00 pm. This information was reported to abc7 news. When abc7 news came on the scene, they were shocked to see how many students were hiding from this killer.
“There were police and firefighter trucks surrounding the north area of the campus” said Kyle Thomas (a professor at FLC) so abc7 news cast was trying to get as close to hear or see what was going on, but the only thing that we were able to hear was a student say, “I thought he was going to kill me!”
