China Begins Feeding Dead Bodies to Pigs

Hong Kong’s funeral services have been overrun by rapidly increasing Covid-19 deaths and have resorted to turning the corpses into pig feed. Authorities were been forced into piling dead bodies on top of one another when the city ran out of traditional wooden coffins. Local farmers approached the city with the solution of feeding the bodies to their pigs. They used the Robert William Pickton case as a precedent for how pigs would make a good disposal system. Mr.Pickton was a Canadian murderer who fed the bodies of the women he killed to his pigs. He was not caught for many years because the pigs ate the entire body; including the bones. This decision has not come without criticism. “I have never seen family members so upset, so disappointed, so helpless,” said funeral director Lok Chung, 37, who has been working round the clock, with about 40 funerals organized in March, up from roughly 15 in an average month.
