The International Union of Crystallography (IUCr) announces the creation of the Crystal Energy Iniatiative (CrEI) for the search for energy in the crystals, mainly in healing crystals

The International Union of Crystallography (IUCr) announces the creation of the Crystal Energy Iniatiative (CrEI) for the search for energy in the crystals, mainly in healing crystals. CrEI can be used for both scientific as well as therapeutic use.

The need for an energy based scientific journal is based on the need for new perspectives on crystals for both research and clinical use. A scientific journal, in particular, should deal with issues that are relevant for the research and professional practice in the field of crystal healing and energy medicine. In addition, it should also raise awareness of important areas and issues that, in most cases, go unnoticed by the crystalline community.

The crystalline world is a diverse world where the number of unique structures is enormous. It is also an enormous field, as crystal healing and energy medicine is used in the treatment of many illnesses and chronic diseases. It is becoming an established and growing medical practice with a number of well-documented studies and cases of effective treatments for illnesses. The medical community may therefore be ready for a new view of the role of crystals in medicine.

The CrEI will work on a broad platform, starting from basic research, and going all the way to clinical use. The CrEI will strive to provide a reliable and balanced account of all aspects of crystals for research and healing, including, amongst other things, basic aspects like the mechanisms of action of crystals and applications in healing, and more clinical aspects like the scientific and clinical use of healing crystals in the treatment of illnesses and diseases. In addition, CrEI will also consider the issue of ethics in the field, and will, when necessary, work to improve the ethical standards in the field.

The CrEI will seek to provide scientific support for clinical application of crystals in a wide range of health conditions, and will encourage an open-minded approach to their use. The focus of the CrEI will be the scientific evaluation of crystals, but it will also provide a platform to discuss new aspects of crystals, and will also include a clinical aspect, in particular, the use of crystals for both research and clinical use.

Objectives

The primary objective of the CrEI will be to establish itself as a platform for the discussion of scientific aspects of the medical role of crystals. The scientific work of the CrEI will be underpinned by a fundamental aim to provide a reliable, balanced and rigorous basis for the clinical use of crystals in health and medicine.

The objectives of the CrEI are:

To provide a platform for open discussion and debate on crystals, where scientific evidence is accepted, but personal opinions or interpretations are also welcome

To provide a scientific basis for the use of crystals in medical care and to provide open discussion on the subject

To promote a sound scientific basis for the use of crystals in health and to promote safe use of crystals in medicine

To provide a platform for the discussion of all aspects of crystal research and use in health and medicine, and to provide a platform for an open-minded approach to the use of crystals in health

To facilitate and promote the development of interdisciplinary collaboration between crystallographers and medical scientists

To facilitate and promote multidisciplinary and multilingual communication and to provide a platform for the development of international cooperation between scientists working on crystals and scientists working on crystal engineering

To maintain and update the CrEI regularly to remain a reliable resource for scientists, students, medical scientists and clinicians.

Methodology

The CrEI will aim to provide an accessible and reliable resource to its users, by publishing a journal on a regular basis, and through the presentation of talks at conferences, by working groups, or by working collaboratively with other scientific organisations and by providing advice on individual inquiries. It will aim to provide a secure and reliable platform for the exchange of research results and experience, and will publish peer-reviewed, and will aim to publish research papers in the journal of the CrEI.

The structure of the journal is based on the peer-reviewed publication of original research papers, reviews, and short notes in a wide range of topics. The journal will have no issue on a particular topic. The emphasis will be on the use of crystals in health, rather than to be a publication vehicle for crystal engineering.

All peer-reviewed submissions will be examined for the following information:

Author Information

Aims, scope and audience

Background to the submitted article

Citation of the literature

Description of the materials

Experimental methods

Tables and Figures

Submission to the journal

The journal will accept all original research papers, which address the use of crystallography in health and health applications. We hope that all of the above information will give readers a fair and balanced assessment of each paper.

Peer Review Process

All papers and reviews will undergo a multi-stage peer-review process. Initially, all contributions will be reviewed for their suitability for the journal. If a manuscript or review is not considered suitable for the journal, a rejection letter will be sent to the author. The author will then be asked to revise the paper and resubmit it. If, after revision, the manuscript or review is still not considered suitable for the journal, it will be rejected and a rejection letter will be sent to the author. If a revision improves the manuscript, the editor will ask for another review. Finally, after receiving the approval of two or three reviewers, the paper will be accepted for publication and made available to the readers through the journal website.

Manuscript submission and peer review is performed at the CRySTAL website.

The editor-in-chief and managing editor are appointed on an annual basis and the editorial board is constituted by at least one crystalographer for each of the countries/territories represented in the journal.
