A lucky English teacher on Gran Canaria, Canary Islands has become, since yesterday, one of the richest people on the entire island, winning €150m in the EuroMillions draw. The young teacher had started working in a high school in the north of Gran Canaria in September, and it was planned that she continued working until June, when the academic year is finished.
She claimed that she would not attend her school any longer, and that she would not tell her students about the prize, but that she's moving to a new country to live life to the fullest.
"I couldn't believe my eyes when I checked the lottery ticket yesterday evening! I phoned my family right away!", she said.
Last Friday, this teacher in her twenties decided to play EuroMillions for the first time in her entire life. She commented she had a hard day at work, bought a coffee and when she was almost home, touched a 2-euro coin in her pocket and thought she could buy a ticket. A lucky streak that will make her travel around the world as soon as the pandemic ends.
