Due to the rising number of English speaking individuals moving to the area. Alouette township has staff a request to the government of Quebec to be recognized as a bilingual community.

Statement released by the community media relations rep Jennifer P "Although we have had many English speaking individuals in the area for years. We felt with the rising numbers we wanted to ensure we recognized all individuals in our area and that both official languages are accepted in the township of Alouette"

More information for the ceremony is yet to be released but is expected to take place later this month.
