This trade helps the Montréal Canadiens by adding a superstar centerman, which is something the Bleu-Blanc-Rouge have not had probably since Vincent Damphousse in the 90s. On the other hand, this helps the Sabres by adding a couple of young forwards who can score but also helps their retool.
